Ahead of their highly awaited world tour, New York Prog Metal titans Dream Theater have announced their 16th studio album: Parasomnia. The record is due to be released on February 7th 2025 via Inside Out Music, you can check out the track listing below

1. – In The Arms Of Morpheus (5:22)
2. – Night Terror (9:55)
3. – A Broken Man (8:30)
4. – Dead Asleep (11:06)
5. – Midnight Messiah (7:58)
6. – Are We Dreaming? (1:28)
7. – Bend The Clock (7:24)
8. – The Shadow Man Incident (19:32)

This will be their first album with returning drummer and founding member Mike Portnoy in 16 years following his departure after Black Clouds & Silver Linings. Night Terror is the first single with that lineup since the God of War III tie in single: Raw Dog, released in 2010. You can check that out here…

Night Terror is almost 10 minutes long and right off the bat, you can feel Portnoy remembers exactly how to put together a Dream Theater song. This track would fit in perfectly on Black Clouds, it even sounds reminiscent of A Nightmare to Remember at times. The whole band sounds tight and refreshed.

James Labrie is embracing his mid range and sticking to his strengths and the trade off solos from Jordan Rudess and John Petrucci are just as intricate as ever and The Silent Man himself, John Myung, is still proving that he’s one of the greatest bass players in metal.

Dream Theater are set to begin an expansive world tour in London on October 20th, there’s a high likelihood that this song will be on the setlist. Outside of that, the setlist is a mystery (willing to put money of 6:00 being on the setlist however) and everyone is losing their minds following the triumphant return of Mike Portnoy.
