Welcome back to another game review and this time Emperor Banzai checks out the saints row reboot. Now is this game really that bad or is it another game that just got over hated due to it’s high expectations of the series which a lot of fans still adore the iconic saints row 2 including myself.

Over the last five years especially in gaming it’s really become a tough market with lots of games coming back from the dead as reboots or remasters. To top this off some games have even been canceled along with studio’s getting shut down. Unfortunately for the saint’s this game did become a huge flop after a massive comeback when volition games luckily did get a buyout back in 2013 when THQ who owned them filed for bankruptcy. This lead a re brand to deep silver which lasted until 2023. Sadly the saints reboot was a failure as it got a lot of mixed and negative reviews , on top of this the game became that expensive, volition finances spiraled and with any lack of direction or confidence for backers to help them carry on to fund any future games the saint’s legacy has died.

With the closures in mind , recently EA did announce the cancellation of titanfall 3, along with their other studio codemasters which have pretty much pulled the plug on any future WRC games, this means the iconic Colin Mcrae/ Dirt series is officially dead.. The studio has been assigned to assist with working on fifa apparently. This is the same logic as making criterion games the lead developer in the new battlefield game. The legendary studio which helped make the burnout series…and help with some need for speed titles.

As a huge fan of the series i’m not going to lie on the fact initially i was happy that there is a new saints row game coming out but as it came closer and the reviews came in along with countless articles which were mostly bad along with the studio closing it did give me little to no confidence on this.

I did actually buy the game with pretty much all DLC for a few quid last year but it’s only up until recently i’ve actually started to play it because of what i’m going to brace for. Honestly overall I actually had fun playing this despite a lot of bugs and some pretty naff moments.

With this review i talk in depth about the story with comparisons to the other games along with the pro’s the con’s , what I like and don’t like plus more! It’s a shame this game will never be fixed with the amount of bugs in it but we have a similar issue with saints row 2 on PC.
