I do believe that 2025 will be a great year for gaming and this is both for AAA and indie developers. I really do hope that the big publishers do listen to what the fans want along with the fact there are so many indie developers who have and are making games which are on par and are a hell of a lot better compared to what these multi billion pound companies have been spewing out over the recent years.

Now the game that is on everyone’s mind is GTA 6. With no confirmation with rockstar games having a release date of GTA 6 it has put a fork in a lot of developers trying to not launch their games as it will affect their sales when this mammoth of a game comes out. Even EA games have said they will work around delaying the launch of battlefield 6 around GTA’s launch.

So when I tell you that MindsEye which is a huge single player open world game which is developed by one of the main rockstar producers who had been with rockstar when GTA III came out all the way til GTA V and left back in 2016 due to dispute over unpaid royalties from take two.

So Leslie Benzies founded build a rocket boy studios and not to long ago announced that they will be published by IO Interactive who are the guys behind the beloved Hitman games and Freedom Fighters! This is also a huge deal as IO have been independent since 2017 from doing a buyout to leave square enix.

So the big one is Mindseye have a release date which is the 10th June 2025 and this will be available on playstation , xbox and PC on launch! Watch the brand new gameplay trailer here!

With regards to this being a comeback for gaming which i’m mostly taking aim at all the AAA developers as there has been loads of terrible sequels and spin offs. Ubisoft being another villain has actually by the looks of it have redeemed themselves a bit with the launch of the new assassins creed “assassins creed shadows” Now i’ve never really played any of these games in the franchise but i’ve started to play one so there’s a start.

EA’s new battlefield looks promising as it feel’s like the gritty battlefield 3 look and that’s what we all want. Yes we want Bad company 3 but this still isn’t happening , all we can do is hope that EA has listened to what people want and it sounds like they have…but time will tell when the game comes out and it’s not a farce like 2042 was. EA if you read this please revive the burnout franchise or at least remaster some!

Tempest Rising – developed by slipgate iron works, this indie developer has done an amazing job to fill us with nostalgia on the RTS genre with close ties to command and conquer with other gems. This game comes out on the 24th april 2025 on PC and i’ve played the demo’s ages ago in the beta stages and it’s amazing then. I can’t wait to see how it looks and plays when it comes out!

INZOI – developed by INZOI Studios this Sim Killer despite being in early access is what the sims player wants…that and apparently you can run over and kill children in this..either it’s a feature with 16x the detail or a bug that will get patched. This game has an incredible palette of customization with realistic attention to detail.

Atomfall – by Rebellion who also make sniper elite , this game lets you explore an area which deals with an aftermath of a nuclear disaster in Britain which is basically dubbed as the British fallout. I can’t confirm this as i’ve not played it yet but there is a vicious rumour that the game has a Tea alarm where you must drink a warm beverage of tea otherwise face getting arrested.

Sniper Elite Resistance – Another game made by Rebellion , this time you take part of the french resistance as a sniper ( of course) people have argued that it’s not the same as you aren’t the usual hero Carl.

Deliver at all costs – Developed by studio far out games. I had a lot of fun playing this demo a few week back and it’s amazing. You are basically a courier that delivers goods from a to b…simple right? it’s all good until you know that each map is a highly destructive map where you can take out objects, buildings, even people and of course get chased by the police by having a jolly good time. It’s gta meets truck simulator…without the 18 Wheeler’s.

Secret Agent Wizard Boy and the International Crime Syndicate – developed by John & Evan Szymanski. It’s basically an a messed version of harry potter/hogwarts legacy but you can be an absolute bellend and it’s not got nothing to do with that transphobic swine Jk Rowling,

Roadcraft – Developed by saber interactive and this is a gem. So this game you rebuild and build roads and bridges which were destroyed by nature. Sounds easy right? Well it’s in the play style as mudrunners and we all know what that’s like.

Broken Arrow – developed by Steel Balalaika this is another RTS gem which again has been in the works for years. Though there has been no confirmed release date it has stated June 2025 for a while. If you are a fan of wargame/warno then this is a game to look out for!

Borderlands 4 – Developed by Gearbox , yes we can all agree that the story was pretty naff and the main bosses were just horrid however the gameplay and graphics were top notch, they made assault rifles amazing again. 4 does look optimistic as it looks and feels like 3. I just hope we get a villain like Handsome jack and general knoxx.

Schedule 1 – developed by TVGS It’s basically a temu version of breaking bad were you become a kingpin and make non legal stuff to make a lot of money. With an overwhelmingly positive review on Steam (PC) It’s well worth checking out. The art style is something!

There are more games i’ve not added but i’m actually very optimistic this year that will help restore faith in the gaming world.
