Joshu is the picture of multiculturalism, born in the UK and raised in Antigua. His latest single, Holding On, deals with lofty themes of identity and asking the question of where you really come from and what you would consider home.

Holding On is sonically reminiscent of Lou Reed with its minimal production and laid back folky guitar work. The hook of the track “it’s not easy when you’re holding on so tight” is repeated so frequently in the track that it begins to feel like a self affirmation, as if Joshu has had to put the work in to convince himself of it. You can listen to Holding On here.

Holding On is the first single from his upcoming EP, Way Back Home, which deals with his journey across the Atlantic and invites people into the extensive journey across the world that is Joshu’s life. Way Back Home is due for an independent release in January and is sure to deliver a grand journey fueled by self discovery and introspective nostalgia.
