Hailing from Birmingham, Genieve Miles has released a brand new vibrant and soulful shoe gaze single: Howl. You can check out the single here…
The whole track has this eir of hope transcending through pain and the while the vocals are never on Beyonce levels of theatrical, they fit this grandiose anthemic vibe beautifully as the track builds and even the more subtle moments add a lot of character. It’s a haunting tone with beautiful lyrics that very most will be able to relate to.

There’s a relatable sadness to the track and the repetitive shoe gaze guitar work gives that feeling of comfort in sadness after the tremendous impact of grief has been felt. This will be her first release since the critically acclaimed EP, So Heavy So Hard To Hold, was released in 2023. Highly recommended for 90s indie fans in the vein of Sonic Youth or Smashing Pumpkins, 1979 in particular.

Aside from this release, you can also catch her on her final live shows of the year:
3rd November – Hare and Hounds, Kings Heath (supporting Danny Mellin)
13th December – The Night Owl, Digbeth
