Finnish upstart punk rockers have unleashed a brand new single inspired by the likes the of sharp witted punk acts of yesteryear like The Dickies and Jello Biafra of Dead Kennedys and if you want a real deep cut reference, it channels Rich People Problems by Surgical Meth Machine. The single is entitled I Wanna Be a Hipster, a thing nobody should ever say earnestly.

The track has an almost B-52s style new wave weirdness with its saxophone solos and beach punk tone. Look, all of this sounds like a bunch of disperate elements duct taped together to make some bizarre Frankenstein’s Monster of a punk rock track but it all works so well. Check it out yourself here…

Drug Store Raid – I Wanna Be a Hipster

Based on this and Drug Store Raid’s other single, Vi Är Finnjävlar, their upcoming album, Background Music for Family Arguments, promises to be an eclectic medley of satirical bizarro high octane punk rock classics inspired by all corners of the genre.

You can tape I Wanna Be a Hipster onto a C30 along with your favourite tracks from My Morning Jacket songs while you drink craft beer and talk about how you’re superior to everyone because you listened to Catfish and the Bottlemen before they were popular.

Background Music for Family Arguments is available November 15th via Kieku Records. In the meantime check out their singles Vi Är Finnjävlar and their latest track I Wanna Be a Hipster.
