Finnish singer/songwriter Carla Aakre has released a brand new single from her upcoming debut album: Things I Forgot to Tell You recorded in Helsinki, Finland. The lead is entitled Watercolour and you can listen to it here.

The track has a 2010s indie pop vibe and is likely to win over fans of the big crossover acts of the time like Gotye, fun and Tegan and Sara. There’s a begrudging sad energy to it in the same vain as Dancing on my Own by Robyn.

Aakre said this of her brand new hit in the making “‘watercolour’ is an ode to friendship. Sometimes you need someone to remind you of the beauty around you. With the help of friendship, even in difficult moments, you can find something you want to cherish.”

It’s a joyful subject matter that carries a mournful tone from a sonic standpoint and it would fit nicely on a Life is Strange soundtrack. Perhaps that tells you everything you need to know about Carla Aakre and if doesn’t… then click the link.

Things I Forgot to Tell You is due for release in February 2025 via Kieku Records.
