Finnish punk upstarts Drug Store Raid have just released a brand new single: Vi Är Finnjävlar. The track is a high octane ripper that features the classic iconic punk attitude mixed in with modern sensibilities and perspectives on the world. You can check their single here.

From a musical standpoint, Vi Är Finnjävlar is an abrasive punk rock rager that mixes legendary acts like Dead Kennedys and The B52s to create something entirely modern and unique. Picture the demon offspring of The Talking Heads and Black Flag and you’re in the right ballpark.

Vi Är Finnjävlar translates to “we are Finn Bastards” and looks to be an insightful look into what life as a young person in Finland is like. Insider perspectives on your home country will always provide a more vivid view of the cultural landscape to an outsider. Much of this will be lost on a non Finnish person but at the same time, their interpretation of loner culture, anxiety of the youth and the issues that hinder a sense of national pride are all issues that a British person can relate to.

The world is a bit smaller than we previously thought and Drug Store Raid hope to tap into that feeling as well as a wealth of other talking points once their album Background Music for Family Arguments releases on November 15th 2024 via Kieku Records
